TALENTS AND SPECIAL ABILITIES
[attr="class","fbidossiertxtboxy"]Bedding women. Driving the Impala. Using: Guns (preferences: Colt 1911 and sawed-off shotgun), machetes, knives, anything handy (lamps, rocks), hands. Picking locks, running cons, flirting with women, hustling pool, bedding women, secretly worrying about Sammy, secretly worrying about Cas, flirting with women. Also doing stuff in bed with hot women.
Everything he knows about the supernatural he learned from John's Journal and from Bobby. The rest is cold, hard and personal experience. Boy's got some mad research skills, but he definitely prefers pounding the pavement rather than heading to the library in order to find information on the big bad. He knows how to care for his weapons, create needed technology like an electromagnetic field detector from an old walkman, and improvised explosive devices (i.e.d). He can pick locks with a paperclip and bust out of prison. He can pose as any law enforcement officer and knows the procedures of investigation.

POWERS AND VULNERABILITIES
[attr="class","fbidossiertxtboxy"]Human, human strength, human weaknesses. Has an angel on his side, so resurrections are rarely an issue. Protective tattoo prevents demonic possessions. Suffering from post traumatic stress disorder which he manages by drinking excessively.
REPUTATION
[attr="class","fbidossiertxtboxy"]Pretty well known by some demonic circles, bane of existence in others. Definitely known in hell where for ten years he tortured souls after resisting and enduring torture for thirty.
PERSONALITY
[attr="class","fbidossiertxtboxy"]He is the protective older brother to Sam and would often be described by others first impressions as immature and self interested. He has been accused of being the rat that kept pressing the pleasure button instead of the food button until he died. He is the woman chaser, huge flirt and loves beer, pie and shooting pool. He has a great sense of humour, very dirty and funny. He is the master of pranks. On the hunt, he is fearless, brash and takes no prisoners. Sometimes, he'll let his more vulnerable side show, mostly to his brother Sam and on occasion to Castiel (showing them that he cares about them a lot). Generally he eschews chick-flick moments, preferring to maintain his bad boy, devil may care image. He'll do anything for his brother, even when his brother does stupid, stupid things.
Dean won't ask for emotional help even when he needs it, so he goes through life carrying a lot of emotional baggage. Sometimes he'll vent, but it's usually at the wrong time. He'll also take his anger out on that which he loves, kicking the wheel of the Impala and immediately apologizing afterward, of course.
Dean rarely indulges in emotional poking, but when he does, the weight becomes easier to bear. For example, talking to Anna helped a little, mostly because she actually knew what hell was like and grew up "human" so she could relate, understand the emotions that drove him. All the good that Anna had done for him by being a listening ear was nice. The healing sex didn't hurt either.
When Dean is hurt, he'll clam up and shut out the person who hurt him. Harder to do when it's family, which is why Dean keeps taking Sam back even though his brother keeps doing stupid, stupid things. 'Cause he loves his brother, and okay end this chick flick moment already dude.

HISTORY
[attr="class","fbidossiertxtboxy"]Dean had a happy childhood for the first four years of his life. Then his mother was killed by a demon in his brother Sammy's nursery. After that he felt it was his responsibility to look after Sam, practically raising him. Dean sacrificed a lot of his childhood to look out for Sam. Home to Dean is his family, though he rarely admits to the sappy sentiment, so he is comfortable in roach motels and greasy spoons on America's highways so long as he knows Sam is okay. Their nomadic life in the Impala meant they rarely stayed in one place for long and went from school to school. Then when he was finally old enough to ditch school to enter the family business, he took to it like a duck to water, joining John on hunts and teaching Sam the ropes of the family business.
Everything was good until the fateful day when Sam and John had their ARGUMENT. Caught in the middle, Dean tried to keep his family together. Then Sam was gone. Took a while for John Winchester to cool down and Dean did what he could to ameliorate the shaken foundations of their family. He obeyed his father like the soldier he had been raised to be, and they went on hunts, killing demons, saving people. The family business.
Despite John's ultimatum, Dean never really let go of his brother and would sometimes drive up to Palo Alto to watch out for his brother from afar whenever he had the time. Then four years later, and three weeks out of touch, Dean began to worry that something had happened to John. He did what he does best and broke into his brother's apartment like the charming man he is and after a scuffle with his brother, told his brother the situation.
Dean really wanted his brother back, but not at the cost of Sam's girlfriend's life. After that incident, Sam let himself be drawn back into the life and Dean tried to slip back into the role of thebig older brother, worrying about Sam's dreams, worrying about Sam in general. Dean always said he'd give his life for Sam, 'cause he's the older brother, it's his job. Even after John sold his soul to save Dean (which Dean felt totally unable to measure up to something of such great value (low self esteem, poor Dean) and dealing with the emotion from that fallout), Dean still sold his soul to save Sam.
Deciding to run and hide from the decision he made, he resumed living his life as though he would die at any moment. He kept eating greasy foods, hunting things, saving lives, enjoying his life as much as he could, which also involved getting laid a lot. Near to the end of the contract, Dean finally stopped playing ostrich and gets serious already, about hitting Lilith with the biggest stick and getting out of being sent to hell. Instead, hellhounds drag him to hell.
While four months passed for Sam and everybody else, Dean endured forty years in hell. For thirty years, he was tortured, chained to the rack and killed over and over again by the worst hell had to offer. Then he had enough, wanted to stop being hurt and started to lay hurt on others. For the remaining ten years of his time in hell that is what he did, unknowingly breaking the first seal. Then Castiel found him and "gripped him tight and raised him from perdition."
Dean had a difficult time readjusting to life after hell, finding his sense of self off-kilter. He is a SURVIVOR. Whatever life or Death throws at him, he will make it through, burned, bent and twisted in the wind, he will still carry on. He discovers that Sam hasn't exactly been acting sane- …shacking up with a demon, drinking demon blood, using his psychic powers to send demons to hell "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!" Dean is so disgusted that the brothers separate for a while, before eventually agreeing that they're better together. They meet Anna. They find out Anna is an Angel. They try to stop more seals from being broken. They generally fail.
Then we segue into On the Road 2.0 plot winter 2009 (season 4) stuff, Lori. Thangs.
